10/15/26 - Rodents in Champion Park

Two species of rats are now established in the Boise Valley: black/roof rats and Norway/wharf rats. As the Valley has grown and commercial traffic has increased, rats have been introduced and their populations have spread. Rats can spread disease, damage property, and become a serious nuisance. While we cannot eliminate them entirely, we can reduce the conditions that allow them to thrive. Remove food sources. Rats are attracted to edible garbage, pet food, birdseed, and food placed outside for ducks, chickens, squirrels, or other wildlife. Removing spilled food, keeping garbage contained, and limiting outdoor food sources will help reduce rat activity. Remove places for rats to hide. Overgrown landscaping, piles of trash, and general clutter provide rats with places to hide and reproduce. Keeping yards clean, trimmed, and free of unnecessary clutter will help eliminate potential rat habitat. Remove existing rats. Homeowners are responsible for controlling rats on their property. This may include traps or poison bait stations. Many homeowners have also chosen to hire professional pest control companies for assistance. Please act now. As temperatures cool over the next few months, rats will begin looking for shelter in homes, garages, and other structures. Taking action now can help prevent increased damage and contact with rodents. We all need to work together to address the rat problem. Please do your part by removing food sources, reducing potential habitat, and taking steps to control rats on your property. Helping your own property also helps protect your neighbors.

9/21/26 - Landscape Shut off Notice

The irrigation district has informed us that our irrigation water will be shut off on October 9, 2026, just one week earlier than normal. We’re sure everyone will miss those wonderful brown lawn letters. In the meantime, we’d appreciate everyone continuing to keep weeds under control and lawns cut and trimmed until the grass stops growing. Fall is right around the corner, so before you know it, those brown lawn letters will be replaced with leaf cleanup letters. Just a little heads-up! Don’t forget to get your sprinkler systems blown out and winterized.

6/30/26 - Fireworks & Community Consideration

As we prepare to celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary, we know many residents are looking forward to enjoying fireworks with family and friends. We ask that everyone keep a few important considerations in mind to help ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday for all: Be mindful of pets. Fireworks can cause significant anxiety for pets, leading to excessive barking, hiding, soiling themselves, or even running away. Consider your neighbors. Loud fireworks can disturb young children who are already in bed and residents who need to get up early for work the next morning. Clean up afterward. Please remove any firework debris from streets, sidewalks, and gutters by the following morning to help keep our community clean and safe. Fireworks Safety and Idaho Law Safety is everyone's responsibility. While Idaho allows the sale of certain aerial fireworks, they are illegal to use without a professional permit. Permissible Fireworks ("Safe and Sane") Ground spinners Cone fountains Sparklers Smoke devices Wheels These fireworks must remain on the ground and may not emit sparks higher than 20 feet or travel outside a 15-foot diameter circle. Illegal Fireworks The following fireworks may not be used by the general public in Idaho: Firecrackers Roman candles Bottle rockets Skyrockets Mortars Any fireworks that fly or explode Legal Sale and Use Periods State law permits the sale and discharge of safe and sane fireworks only during the following periods: Independence Day: June 23 through July 5 New Year's: December 26 through January 1 Thank you for helping make this holiday safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone in our community. We wish you and your family a happy and safe Independence Day celebration!

6/11/26 - Champion Park Geese

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has confirmed cases of avian influenza (bird flu) in our neighborhood. As a result, residents may notice deceased waterfowl near the pond, common areas, or even on their own property. Please do not touch or handle sick or deceased birds with bare skin. Appropriate PPE, including gloves and masks, is important. Keep children and pets away from the geese. If there is a deceased bird on your property, wear PPE, double-bag it, and place it in your regular garbage for pickup. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly afterward. Residents who have birds should take extra precautions to prevent contact between their birds and wild waterfowl, as avian influenza can spread to domestic birds. The Association is aware of the situation and is exploring options for the safe removal of affected wildlife from common areas. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

Ice Cream Social

The Ice Cream Social is typically scheduled for Fall and takes place at the park. It is a good opportunity to meet new neighbors. Check back for the exact date.
